As avid GFFO fans know, we usually do at least one campy SCI-FI film yearly – just for fun!
We’re proud to announce the following:
From the movie orchestra who brought you Plan Nine from Outer Space and Little Shop of Horrors, The GRAND FEATURE FILM ORCHESTRA presents TEENAGERS FROM OUTER SPACE!
Alien interplanetary teenage ranchers in flying saucers come to Earth to raise their man-eating monster lobster herd. That's right!! Gigantic lobsters threaten all of humanity! Thor (the evil alien) wreaks havoc, as Derick (the good alien) and his earthgirl, Betty, work to save the world from destruction by seafood.
Will they succeed?
Find out as we present TEENAGERS FROM OUTER SPACE – LIVE orchestra with the movie on Sunday, May 26th at 2:00 pm at Journey Downtown Theater – 308 Main Street – Vacaville, CA.
There is much to unpack in this fantastic adventure film directed by would-be low-budget movie-king Tom Graeff. To start with, how was it ever greenlit for production and distribution by none other than movie behemoth Warner Brothers – the owner of DC? Teenagers From Outer Space was created in 1959 with a paltry $14,000 budget. Their sci-fi movie props had toy ray guns, a painted toy flying saucer, and a plastic model human skeleton for extra hilarious excitement!
The GFFO will use some of the best music on Earth to turn this film into an epic adventure you won't want to miss!
Get ready to join us on May 26 as we give this little hidden gem the GFFO treatment with a live orchestra score using the music of Arnold Schoenberg, Edward Elgar, and George Gershwin!
