Willis O'Brien's masterpiece is a stunning display of stop-motion animation. On its original release, the great master magician, Harry Houdini, said it was the greatest magic trick he had ever seen!  That's quite an endorsement! It's no wonder it has "100% Certified Fresh" on RottenTomatoes. 

O'Brien's attention to detail is evident! The dinosaurs display facial expressions, and their bodies move with a stunning natural stride. You can even see them breathe! 

He was able to create these effects along with live-action characters in the same frames. How was this possible with the technology in 1925, a time when half of America still lit their homes with candles and oil lamps? 

If you've seen the movie before, watch it on the big screen with a live orchestra! It's a fantastic experience. And because it's live, every performance is different!
