Summer sessions
Open now through August 21, 2022
Information:
The GFFO is very active all year long. This summer, we have an epic set of projects in store!
YOU can join in on the fun and education and help the arts community at the same time!
The Adventure:
1 - We'll prepare and recreate the complete live orchestra score to Paramount Pictures' action thriller, WINGS.
2 - We'll create sound effects appropriate to the era of the movie -- including designing and building machines to fulfill the effects
3 - We'll perform the complete musical score and sound effects, fully synchronized to the movie, as it plays before a LIVE audience!
Who May Join the Grand Feature Film Orchestra?
Any elementary, middle, high school, and post-high school students, professional or amateur musicians, or engineers are welcome to join the team.
How Much Does it Cost?
The suggested tax-deductible donation for the summer program is $240 (three payments of $80/mo). However, we NEVER turn away anyone who can't afford to pay the suggested donation.
The GFFO is fully non-profit and depends on donations to cover our operating costs. We ask for a donation of $80 per month per member. We will happily provide services for those who can't afford to donate. We aim to serve to the extent that we can.
Each student member must have a working instrument and be able to handle extended rehearsals and performances.
Summer Schedule:
Beginning June 13, regular rehearsals are
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Performance is
Sunday, August 21 at 1:00 pm
Note: Other special sessions may be scheduled, such as sectional rehearsals and lessons for beginning/intermediate students. We'll schedule these sessions depending on each student's part in the orchestra production.
GFFO Artist Portal Access:
All GFFO members are given access to the GFFO Artist Portal. It contains sheet music and other educational downloads, a live rehearsal/session calendar, rehearsal videos, promotional flyers/posters, and other materials.
