Evan Losoya – MFA GRADUATION RECITAL
Deconstructed and Repurposed
AVAILABLE NOW ONLINE ON DEMAND
Get ready for something VERY different in this online performance! Aside from his own works, Evan will be performing music from 20th-century avant-Garde (experimental) composers. As the name suggests, the music will be what was then considered “ahead of its time.” The sounds you'll hear are unusual – even by today's standards, but their early works have hugely influenced the 21st century, especially in electronic and cinematic music.
Evan Losoya has many surprises! Not only is Evan a talented movie score composer – he's an accomplished pianist and oboist. Earning his bachelor's degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he's currently finishing up his MFA at The California Institute of the Arts. In the fall, he is heading to John Hopkins University to pursue a Ph.D. in musical composition.
Mr. Losoya continues to chair the Grand Arts Consortium, where he's held the post since 2021. He's composed multiple scores for the GFFO -- including the upcoming silent comedy classic, Steamboat Bill Junior!
You can catch his recital HERE live on YouTube.
